Google staff released a special maze in May 2010 to mark thirty years of the arcade favourite. The grid kept the crisp pixels and vibrant corridors of the original cabinet. Designers molded the pathways into Google letters for a playful puzzle.

Players guide a yellow dot through corridors filled with small points and larger power pellets. Ghosts chase the dot across each turn. Eating a pellet flips the chase. Pac-Man then hunts the ghosts before the effect ends.

Fans of the arcade era jump back into this maze for a hint of nostalgia. Iconic blips and simple graphics bring back the cabinet experience. This Google doodle earned praise by recreating the hunt from thirty years ago.
